Third Sunday of Lent

Mar 8, 2026    Fr. Ryan Kaup

In the gospel, we hear of the story of the women at the well. Here she is drawn in by Jesus into her own story. He tells her of water that will quench all thirst, the water of everlasting life. This water Jesus wants to give to us today. For it is the one thing we desire, it is the only water that fulfills.

This women in the gospel went on to be known as Saint Photina. She proclaimed the gospel in Rome and lived a life filled with the love of Jesus. She then became a martyr where she was thrown down a dry well and starved to death. Yet here, she still drank of the everlasting water.
