Thirtieth Sunday in Ordinary Time
Oct 26, 2025 • Fr. Ryan Kaup
When reflecting on the gospel, we see the faults of one who brags about their goodness because they have done good. Justification and comparison come forth in the heart and cause us to fall into blindness of our sins. In contrast, the sinner recognizes the hope of growing in holiness while seeing their sinfulness and utter need for God.
The only thing that can save us is the Lord. For we cannot do it on our own. For may we not despair or dismiss our sinfulness, but humbly depend on God. This is something we can never tire, His mercy and forgiveness for us. May we continue to trust Him again and again for the rest of our lives, so that we can have confidence in meeting Him upon our death.
